The Moral Dilemma Game
Dilemma 1: Vegas
Read the story below, and tell us what you would do.
You are in a Las Vegas casino on a Saturday night, and your wallet is stolen.

You go to the police, but the officer is in a terrible mood and decides you must have lost all your money gambling and are making the story up. He tells you to come back Monday.

Dismayed, you decide there is nothing for it but to let fate take a hand. You drop a quarter into a slot machine, close your eyes, and pull the lever. A ringing bell makes you look, and you've won!

You are not sure how much you won because the machine doesn't have that many coins. (Well, that's good, it must be a lot!) The attendant comes, she whips out a calculator and punches in some numbers... and says you just won 3500 quarters! That's $875 -- WOW!

While she's gone, you figure out that she made a mistake. You only should have won 1500 quarters, or $375.

What do you do?
I'd take the $875. It isn't like I've lied... and I sure need a break... especially from a casino!

I'd have to tell the attendant -- after all, $375 is still a big win!

If you said "I'd have to tell..."
What if you should only have won $35 -- not nearly enough to last until Monday?

In that case I'd keep my mouth closed and take the $875 -- I need it!
How about if you needed the money for someone else? Suppose you had $500 in your wallet, now stolen, that you were to have given a friend for medication that she needs tomorrow?

For a friend in need, I'd take it.
